Petrofac Training Cup: Alloa stun Rangers to reach final
Alloa produced a superb comeback to beat the Rangers 3-2 and book their place in the final of the Cup by Petrofac training.
Rangers seemed on course for a comfortable victory in the tie in the semifinals at the Indodrill stage when they took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from the second period of Kenny Miller and Dean Shiels.
However, quickfire goals from Greig Spence and Ryan McCord launched against it 2-2 before that Spence has struck with one minute remaining to secure a famous win and a meeting with Livingston.

There was a start without incident at the game but Rangers suffered a blow in the 10th minute, while young midfielder Lewis Macleod was evacuated off with what appeared to be a tendon problem with Shiels, coming in its place.

Alloa had a great chance to take the lead four minutes later but Spence could not connect properly with header of Ben Gordon and Steve Simonsen gathered easily the ball into the goals of the visitors.

Adam Asghar shot and then wide for the hosts, while Nicky Law and Kris Boyd were both off-target at the other end.

Liam Buchanan had another good opportunity for Alloa in the 37th minute, when the ball fell into his path 12 yards after Spence effort was blocked, but he dragged his shot left of the goal.

Shiels wide head for Rangers shortly after the resumption, but the situation has been released in the 49th minute when Miller was on hand to slot home from 10 yards after Alloa ' goalkeeper Craig McDowall could not only push low, 25-yard-franc of Boyd.

Darren McGregor then forced a good save McDowall, while Simonsen had to take care to the Rangers to keep Buchanan cut-back because he deflected Bhargava Mckoy.

The game looked to be more in the 64th minute when Rangers went up 2-0 through well placed strike from the Shiels after he was teed by Miller.

However, Spence has pulled a goal back in the 72nd minute with a short-range Mark Docherty centre head and Alloa were level just two minutes later after McCord wriggled free in the box and shot past Simonsen's right cross Edward Ferns.

McDowall has made further substitute Jon Daly short-range header as Rangers attempted to retaliate but Alloa stunned their rivals in the Championship in the 89th minute when Spence stroked home a shot from the side 14 yards from the centre of Steven Hetherington of the right foot.
