Premier League: Chelsea see off Spurs to maintain six-point lead at top
Chelsea kept their record perfect in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge this season with a comfortable 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur.
After Harry Kane hit the bar with a header at the beginning, Chelsea opened the score in the 19th minute when Eden Hazard fired before Hugo Lloris tipped bearing.
A bad clearance from Lloris was punished when Oscar slid in Didier Drogba - who started instead of the suspended Diego Costa - doubled the advantage five minutes later.
The result was firmly put beyond doubt in the 73rd minute when substitute Loic Remy slipped a shot into the corner.
Victory - seventh in a row at home Chelsea in the League this season - keeps the Blues six points clear at the top of the table while Spurs slip up to 10.
Maybe the outcome would have been different if the Spurs had been able to convert one of two excellent early openings.
After a bright start from the visitors, Kane headed against the crossbar in the eighth minute of right cross from Aarbon Lennon with Thibaut Courtois beat.

After a bright start from the visitors, Kane headed against the crossbar in the eighth minute cross by Aaron Lennon with beat Thibaut Courtois law.
The poor clearance from goalkeeper landed straight at the feet of the risk, who worked the ball quickly forward to Oscar. He slipped to Drogba and the attacker has resisted Jan Vertonghen challenge before firing home.
Double five minutes seemed to undermine the confidence of the Spurs, and they have created, nothing more of note before the break.
Willian has seen some pictures comfortably saved by Lloris at the other end, but in the second half Chelsea were content to sit back and soak up the pressure of the Spurs.
The visitors enjoyed plenty of possession but it find it difficult to break down a solid defence of Chelsea and their best chance is coming from the corner as Vertonghen headed towards the bar.
The leaders of the League looked dangerous on the counter and they put the result firmly beyond doubt in the 73rd minute when Remy released and showed good strength to postpone Vertonghen before dragging before Lloris.
It could have been even worse for Spurs as Chelsea continued to threaten the break but Oscar and Willian can not convert from promising positions.
Nevertheless, he never looked to be any chance of spurs, staged a comeback as the Blues held good and comfortably saw out the match.
Verdict of Tony Cottee
"It was too easy for Chelsea. You look at this team and it will be very hard to beat. Is there weakness any? Not for the moment. They have a fantastic goalkeeper and one of the strongest defenses - Gary Cahill may need to miss a few games so that they will do no favors. In midfield, Matic and Fabregas are fantastic and you create with other midfielders. They have a choice of three players at the front. Outside the city of Manchester, it is difficult to see which team could beat them.
"With the Spurs, there was lot of pass, pass, pass for fun. You must create in football and you have to have a chance. The bottom line is that Chelsea took their chances when it was necessary. »
