Premier League | Ayoze Perez comparisons too much, too soon, says Newcastle boss Alan Pardew
Boss of Newcastle Alan Pardew is eager to try to keep the pressure off the coast of striker Ayoze Perez, despite his rich vein of form.
The young Spaniard scored three times in as many football games, including goals against Liverpool and Tottenham and has already established comparisons with legends of Tyneside Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.
Pardew is obviously delighted with his contribution, he does not want to add any unnecessary pressure on the £1. 5 m signature of Tenerife, before or after the shock of Saturday with QPR.
Pardew said: "for the moment, he's afraid. He had the wind in its sails and is going along very well. He was very sharp in training. It is a threat.
"If you take your eye off him, he is a predator. I do not know that QPR will be having conversations about how take care of him. It is difficult to identify, his movement is very clever.
"But he is a young player. Some titles have been far from the brand - new Alan Shearer, Andy Cole new.
"He is a boy who has played three games. These players are legends and have everything done. Ayoze is just set foot in the Premier League.
"But I have to say, it is really well done so far. I am pleased with him. »
When signing, Perez has been regarded as "one for the future" but injuries to the likes of Papiss Cissé were forced into the projector and veteran Defender Fabricio Coloccini from Pardew credits to help quickly resolve.
Pardew added: "it's a nice, bright boy. Because of the language, Colo took him under his wing. That has helped to settle quickly.
"He is a super player and little maintenance. Let's enjoy him on the training ground. »
