Scottish Premiership: Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara on 3-2 win at Ross County
Jackie McNamara urged his side Dundee United to be 'smarter', after they resisted Ross County 3-2 at the Global energy stage.
Nadir Çiftçi double and an effort of Stuart Armstrong had United cruising at 3-0 up but despite a red card for the County of Liam Boyce, goals from Yoann Arquin and Darren Maatsen ensure a tense finish.
United boss McNamara said later: "we stopped passing the ball and they got a lift from their goal.

"Great honor for them, they have continued and gave everything they had. They made the TI an exciting 10 minutes for everyone else here apart from myself and our players and fans.

"The most important thing was the three points. We just think that sometimes you have to be a little smarter when we are 3-0 at the top and not to give any encouragement to the opposition. »
Ruthless
Peer County Jim McIntyre said: "the difference for me was United were ruthless and we weren't. ''

"We got into some great positions especially in the first half and we were not very profitable. The decision whether to relax, we were too cautious. The difference was when United got in this position, they were fatal."

"You are always disappointed with the goals but I think that a couple of them came when we were at the attack and they responded. They punish you, this is why they are where they are.

"One thing the boys got in their locker is they never say die, they get with it, they never give up." We cannot feel sorry for them. We have to continue".
