Transfer news: Louis van Gaal slams talk of Manchester United war-chest
Manager of Manchester United Louis van Gaal has blasted rumours that the club has agreed to splash out on another 100 m £ thus on strengthening his team.
United spent 211 million pounds since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, 19 months ago but the stories in the newspapers of Friday many claim that the Dutch will be given another huge budget in its attempt to bring trophies back at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal believes the stories will have an effect adverse on the United transfer activity and said: "I think it's disgusting, always writes about numbers. I don't think not that (Executive Vice President) Ed Woodward said nothing thereon and nor I.
"It's disrespect to my players and I do not like to talk about. I have to work with the selection that I have and I have respect for that. I believe in the players, this is my answer.

"I don't think that money is the question in the present. When Manchester United comes, the club are asking still more money because we are Manchester United. Perhaps you agree when I say that.
"Do you think that Southampton pay too much for their players? I do not believe because it's Southampton. There is always a relationship between Real Madrid and the United States and teams like Aston Villa and Southampton.

"Do you know how many players we have lost? Never is that you said it. Never have I read in the media. We lost more players."

With the clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford rivals just around the corner on 14 December, Van Gaal rushed to point out that the sole objective remains on Monday travel to face high-flying in St Mary Southampton, live on Sky.

He said: "Southampton plays better and has more points than Liverpool at the moment, the sequence is so good that we play Southampton now. What can I say more? I'm still busy with the first match. »
